  Did you lead a double life as a JW? Are you leading a double life still?

  as a jw, alot of us lead double lives.

  i know i did.. in talking about our situations with my sister in law, realized that i now lead a double life as a "fader"!!!

  my husband and i are "out" of the religion (my brother, sister in law and the kids too) but for the sake of family, they think we are still "in" although they know we are not active.

  It does get old not being able to say what you feel and do things openly. But the alternative is not so good if you have family still worshipping the FDS.

  I think most of the dubs are living just as much a double life, if not more. Besides the few totally faithful, most jws are doing everything they say they are not. They want to have it both ways. I find them as materialistic (or more) than others. They overdrink, sleep around and party hardy. It's a social club.

  If you're living a double life, you learned it from the masters of deception. How many of them don't believe parts of their teaching, but just keep stuffing it away mentally and carry on?

  i am interested to know what you know about lucifer/satan and what you really think of his teachings.. god demands that we believe everything that he tells us, and that we do everything that he says without questioning.

  I was thinking that this sounds a lot like gnostic teaching also, Leolaia. It is not so new. I have read some of the gnostic writings and it certainly was eye opening and forced my mind to think outside of what what I had always been taught.

  It has nothing to do with Satan worship, however.

  Welcome to the board. Sorry you are being emotionally blackmailed by the witnesses. I am a fader because I don't want to lose contact with my family. I quit attending and just keep to myself. So far, so good, but I am still not free from their peering eyes.

  Take some time and do some research on the organization. You may find it is not what it appears to be. It takes a long time to clear your mind of the constant noise they placed in it. It does get better though. Read some of the life stories here. I am sure you will find you are not so different.

  I've never downloaded a copy of any WBTS book. No need to, I have plenty. I did spring for a copy od the CD and consider it money well spent. Depends on who you want to support, I suppose.

  I'd be in my final year of nursing school if I didn't quit

  about 3 years i decided enough of being "content" with the fact that i had a decent job, if i was going to work, i wanted to do something that i loved.

  i've always wanted to get into medicine.

  but being that i was 23, married, owned a home, worked full time and never went to college, it wasn't going to work out for me to just enter into college and then proceed onto medical school.

  I quit nursing school when I became a dub. They convinced me it just wasn't important. I also had a new baby. I returned to school 10 years later with 3 children (one a new baby). I was still a dub. I couldn't believe how many dub women came up to me and said they wish they could be a nurse. They were afraid what others might think.

  All my general studies still applied. I only had to repeat the nursing classes themselves. It took 2 years, but it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. I was still a dub. Worked part time while children were little.

  I am passionate about my job and nursing offers great flexibility. You can just about choose your schedule and work as much or little as you wish as your situation changes throughout your life. Go back. You will never regret it.

  Death Walk

  this morning when i left church i was scooting down the side street close to my building and lo and behold for the first time in months and months i see two witnesses going from door to door.

  i knew immediatley they were jw's .

  as the sauntered up the street to the door it was as if they were doing a death walk, .

  Death walk, very descriptive. Don't want to move too fast because you may actually have to speak to someone.

  Is the death walk related to the circle drive? It's all about avoidance.

  It sounds like you may need to watch your blood pressure, however.

  As for everlasting life, we will all see about that at some time, won't we?

  Everything seems to be "special" for these folks lately. Why on earth would they need to send a letter to the elders about this?

  Maybe it's because they are "special?"
